Detailed Vanilla Models - Medical: Realistic 3D Medical Supplies for Project Zomboid

Detailed Vanilla Models - Part 4: Medical improves the appearance of medical supplies in Project Zomboid. Common first aid items receive more detailed three-dimensional models, replacing simplified shapes with realistic packaging, rounded surfaces and small structural details.

The changes are particularly noticeable when examining objects up close through Project Viewpoint. However, the upgraded equipment also works in the standard isometric perspective.

This is a visual-only enhancement. All medications, bandages and other supplies retain their original functionality and gameplay characteristics.

Redesigned Medical Supplies

The collection covers several categories of equipment commonly found in pharmacies, hospitals and household medicine cabinets.

Medication Bottles and Disinfectants

Standard pill containers, caffeine tablets and disinfectant bottles receive smoother, more rounded geometry.

Their updated appearance includes:

• Cylindrical bodies without noticeable angular edges.
• More accurately shaped bottle necks.
• Detailed caps and closures.
• Original labels and recognizable colors.

The improved models preserve the familiar appearance of the game's medical products.

Bandages and Wound Care

Both clean and dirty rolled bandages receive visible layers of wrapping.

Instead of appearing as simple cylinders, the new shapes show the fabric wound around the roll.

Alcohol wipes also gain finer details, including textured sachets with crimped and serrated seals. The wipe itself has a soft, slightly wavy appearance.

Antibiotics and Blister Packs

Small medication packages have been redesigned with individual components.

Blister packs feature:

• Raised plastic compartments.
• An empty, crushed compartment.
• Tear lines along the packaging.
• A separate loose tablet.

Antibiotic capsules have a realistic two-piece construction, including the visible joint where the cap overlaps the body.

These details are intended to improve visual accuracy rather than introduce new medical mechanics.

All models retain their recognizable vanilla colors and textures.

Choose Between Original and Updated Models

Players do not have to use every replacement.

Each item group includes a Use Vanilla Model setting, allowing selected categories to keep their original appearance.

The controls are located under:

Options > Mods

After changing these settings, restart Project Zomboid for the selected models to update.

This allows players to combine improved medical equipment with the original visuals according to their preferences.

Requirements and Compatibility

The addon was tested with Project Zomboid Build 42.21.

The new assets are registered under separate names, leaving the original game files intact.

No additional medications, treatments or crafting recipes are introduced.

Project Viewpoint Support

The series was created with the first-person camera of Project Viewpoint in mind.

When supplies appear close to the camera, their geometry and surface details become more noticeable. The updated models offer a more convincing appearance at these distances.

Project Viewpoint is not required for the replacement assets to work.
