Sandbox Control - Cheat and Creative Menu for Project Zomboid Build 42

Sandbox Control brings character editing, item spawning, creative building and world settings into one searchable window. Use it to test mods, build a base without gathering materials or create a survival challenge with a deliberately placed horde.

The mod supports Build 42 single-player and split-screen. Multiplayer is not supported in this release, and launching with -debug is unnecessary.

Control your character and surroundings

Available tools include:

• God mode, zombie invisibility, unlimited carrying capacity, need locks and emergency rescue.
• Editing skills, traits, profession, recipes and appearance.
• Spawning vanilla and modded items, including loaded firearms with spare magazines and ammunition.
• Spawning, freezing and clearing zombies, with horde placement through the population map.
• Spawning, repairing, refueling, repainting and hotwiring vehicles.
• Spawning animals by breed.
• Building walls, doors, windows, roofs, roads and pavements in Creative Mode.
• Changing time, weather, electricity, water and sandbox settings.
• Teleporting to towns, landmarks or a chosen map location.

Crafting, construction and repairs can run up to 10 times faster or finish instantly. Additional tools provide scenarios, saved profiles, tile inspection, character snapshots and a command console. Items and container contents can also be deleted.

Keyboard and controller access

Open the menu with F8, or right-click the ground and select Sandbox Control.

With a controller, hold View on Xbox or Create on PlayStation, then select it from the radial menu. Split-screen players have separate menus and switches. Right-click a button or switch to assign a hotkey.

Undo and save management

Most actions can be undone, and risky operations take a snapshot first. However, God mode cannot prevent every death: a sufficiently powerful single hit, such as a vehicle collision, can still kill your character.

To enable the mod on an existing save, open Load, select the save, open Mods and enable Sandbox Control.

Before removing it, run Settings > Save data > Clean up this save, then disable the mod.

Compatibility

Reported tested combinations include Better Sorting, KI5 vehicles, Project Viewpoint, Minimal Sidebar and SMB_steps. Modded items and vehicles appear under their mod names.

Six interface languages are available, including English and Russian. Translations are machine-generated.
