1982 Pontiac Firebird - Trans Am, KITT and KARR for Project Zomboid

1982 Pontiac Firebird brings one of the most recognizable American sports cars of the 1980s to Project Zomboid. The modification includes several versions of the Firebird, from the standard model to the more powerful Trans Am, along with two special vehicles inspired by the legendary television series Knight Rider.

Players can choose between five vehicle variants, customize their appearance, install protective equipment and travel across zombie-infested Kentucky in a classic American muscle car.

Five Pontiac Firebird Variants

The modification includes three main versions and two additional vehicles available through an optional submod:

• Pontiac Firebird - The standard version of the classic American sports car.
• Pontiac Firebird SE - A more powerful variant featuring a removable T-top roof.
• Pontiac Firebird Trans Am - The most powerful standard variant, featuring a T-top roof and unique paint schemes.
• KITT - A special Firebird inspired by the iconic car from Knight Rider.
• KARR - Another recognizable vehicle from the same television series.

KITT and KARR require enabling the additional submod. Without it, the three regular Firebird variants remain available.

Armor and Vehicle Customization

The Pontiac Firebird can be equipped with additional components that players can craft or discover while exploring the game world.

Available modifications include:

• Three front bumper options.
• Rear bumper protection.
• Two tiers of protective upgrades.
• Bullbars and reinforced exterior components.
• Armor for windows and doors.
• Additional protection for the engine and headlights.
• Multiple body textures and paint variations.

These upgrades allow players to adapt the Firebird for survival while preserving its distinctive appearance.

Detailed Animations and Interior

The vehicle features a detailed 3D model with animated components and a visible interior.

Main features include:

• Fully animated hood, trunk, doors and windows.
• Visible driver and passengers.
• Improved entering, exiting and aiming animations.
• Removable 3D vehicle parts that can be placed in the game world.
• Four passenger seats, including the driver's seat.
• Ability to tow other vehicles and be towed.
• Support for existing save games.

The modification offers several predefined textures, but manual vehicle recoloring is not supported.

Game Compatibility

The mod can be added to an existing save by enabling it in the game's load menu.
