Before you can explore the Great Ocean, you must complete several progression requirements:

  1. Complete Chapter 3 of the main story.
  2. Upgrade Greymane Camp to unlock additional faction content.
  3. Unlock the Charting the Unknown questline for the Greymanes.
  4. Gain access to the Great Ocean, where diving becomes available.

If diving is still locked, check your main story progression and Greymane Camp upgrades.

How to Get a Ship

Shipbuilding information in Crimson Desert

While you can unlock diving without owning a ship, reaching more distant locations in the Great Ocean requires one.

To obtain your vessel:

  1. Progress through the A Wider World questline.
  2. Unlock the sub-quest A Call From Beyond the Horizon.
  3. Complete the quest to receive your own ship.

Once you have a ship, you can travel across the Great Ocean and reach diving sites that are inaccessible from the shore.

In short: Charting the Unknown unlocks access to diving, while A Call From Beyond the Horizon provides the ship needed for further ocean exploration.
