1973 Ford Falcon XB GT - Mad Max Pursuit Special for Project Zomboid

1973 Ford Falcon XB GT brings one of the most recognizable cars in post-apocalyptic cinema to Project Zomboid. The modification introduces the classic Australian Ford Falcon XB GT Coupe alongside the legendary Pursuit Special, better known as the Last of the V8 Interceptors from Mad Max.

With powerful performance, aggressive styling and extensive customization options, these vehicles are ideal for survivors who want to explore Knox County in a classic muscle car.

The pack includes four vehicle variants, optional spawn configurations, detailed animations and additional armor.

Four Ford Falcon Variants

The modification features four versions:

  • Ford Falcon XB GT (RHD) - The original Australian right-hand-drive coupe.
  • Ford Falcon XB GT (LHD) - A converted left-hand-drive version.
  • Ford Falcon Pursuit Special (RHD) - The iconic black V8 Interceptor inspired by Mad Max.
  • Ford Falcon Pursuit Special (LHD) - A left-hand-drive conversion of the Pursuit Special.

The XB GT and Pursuit Special share many compatible parts, although each retains unique features and exterior details.

All four variants feature four seats.

Pursuit Special and Vehicle Spawns

The Pursuit Special is a special vehicle inspired by the famous black interceptor from Mad Max.

Important: The Pursuit Special does not spawn naturally unless its optional submod is enabled.

The original right-hand-drive and converted left-hand-drive configurations also use separate spawn files that can be disabled.

This allows players and server administrators to control which versions appear in the game world.

Armor and Customization

Both vehicles support extensive exterior modifications and protective upgrades.

Available equipment includes:

  • Five front bumper options.
  • Rear bumper protection.
  • Two tiers of armor upgrades.
  • Reinforced bullbars.
  • Protective armor for windows and doors.
  • Additional protection for the engine and headlights.
  • Roof racks and spoilers.
  • External gas cans and additional storage equipment.
  • Multiple body texture variations.

Extra components can be crafted or discovered while exploring the game world.

External Fuel Tanks

The modification includes external fuel tank equipment inspired by the Pursuit Special's distinctive appearance.

Currently, these tanks function as additional storage containers rather than fully operational fuel systems.

Expanded fuel functionality is planned for a future update.

Animations and Vehicle Features

The modification includes:

  • Fully animated hood, trunk, doors and windows.
  • Visible interior and player character.
  • Improved entering, exiting and aiming animations.
  • Removable 3D vehicle parts that can be placed in the game world.
  • Four seats, including the driver's seat.
  • Right-hand-drive and left-hand-drive configurations.
  • Ability to tow other vehicles and be towed.
  • Support for existing save games.

Several predefined texture variations are available, but manual recoloring is not supported.
