1981 DeLorean DMC-12 - Legendary Sports Car and Time Machine for Project Zomboid

1981 DeLorean DMC-12 brings one of the most recognizable sports cars in automotive history to Project Zomboid. Created by John DeLorean, this unusual vehicle became famous for its futuristic design, stainless steel exterior and iconic gull-wing doors.

The modification recreates the distinctive features of the original DMC-12, including its unconventional interior, unusual component placement and unique storage solutions. An optional variant inspired by the Back to the Future movies is also available.

Two DeLorean Variants

The modification includes two vehicle versions:

• DeLorean DMC-12 - The classic sports car with gull-wing doors, stainless steel styling and unusual engineering.
• DeLorean Time Machine - A special version inspired by the famous time-traveling car from Back to the Future.

The time machine is available through an optional spawn submod. It is a separate vehicle variant, not a confirmed functional time-travel system.

Unique Design and Features

The DeLorean stands out from other vehicles in Project Zomboid thanks to its unusual construction and recognizable appearance.

Its distinctive characteristics include:

• Window and door armor.

These upgrades allow players to adapt the sports car for dangerous journeys across Kentucky.

Animations and Vehicle Mechanics

The modification includes:

• Fully animated hood, trunk, doors and windows.
• Visible interior and player character.
• Improved entering, exiting and aiming animations.
• Removable 3D parts that can be placed in the game world.
• Ability to tow other vehicles and be towed.
• Support for existing save games.

The DeLorean includes several predefined texture variations, but manual recoloring is not supported.
