1979 Chevrolet Camaro brings one of the most recognizable American muscle cars to Project Zomboid. The 1979 model year marked the peak of Camaro sales, with numerous configurations sharing the distinctive second-generation design.

The modification introduces five vehicle variants, extensive customization options and a special version inspired by the legendary Ghost Camaro, a real vehicle used for humanitarian missions during the Bosnian War.

Five Chevrolet Camaro Variants

The pack includes five versions:

• Camaro Base - The standard version of the 1979 Chevrolet Camaro.
• Camaro RS - The Rally Sport variant.
• Camaro Z28 - The iconic performance-oriented version.
• Ghost Camaro - A specially modified vehicle inspired by Helge Meyer's humanitarian car.
• The Cloud - An additional custom Camaro variant.

All five versions share the recognizable Camaro design while offering different appearances and configurations.

The Story Behind the Ghost Camaro

One of the most interesting vehicles in the pack is the Ghost Camaro, inspired by a real 1979 Chevrolet Camaro modified for use in a war zone.

In 1992, former Danish Special Forces operative Helge Meyer began transforming his Camaro with assistance from contacts in the US Army, US Air Force and German Bundeswehr.

His goal was unusual: drive through war-torn Bosnia to deliver food and toys to children.

Meyer carried out humanitarian missions for approximately three years, earning recognition for his courage and dedication. His modified Camaro became known as the Ghost Camaro.

In Project Zomboid, players can discover this special vehicle and put its survival capabilities to the test in Knox County.

Armor and Customization

The Chevrolet Camaro supports numerous protective upgrades and exterior modifications.

Available equipment includes:

• Three front bumper options.
• Rear bumper protection.
• Two tiers of armor upgrades.
• Reinforced bullbars and protective panels.
• Armor for windows, doors, the engine and headlights.
• Optional run-flat tires, fitted as standard on the Ghost Camaro.
• Roof racks and mudflaps.

Extra parts can be crafted or discovered while exploring the game world.

Animations and Vehicle Features

The modification includes:

• Fully animated hood, trunk, doors and windows.
• Visible interior and player character.
• Removable 3D vehicle parts that can be placed in the game world.
• Four seats, including the driver's seat.
• Ability to tow other vehicles and be towed.
• Support for existing save games.

Several predefined texture variations are available, but manual recoloring is not supported.
