Vanilla Vehicles Expanded - Tier 3 - Specialized Vehicles and Wreck Restoration for RimWorld

Vanilla Vehicles Expanded - Tier 3 adds 11 rare, specialized vehicles rather than simply replacing earlier models with universally better versions. Each fills a particular transport, industrial or combat role.

Requires Vanilla Vehicles Expanded and Vehicle Framework. The base VVE mod supplies essential components and mechanics.

Restore before manufacturing

Tier 3 vehicles are initially unavailable for construction.

Find a wreck, select Restore wreck, and your colonists deliver materials to rebuild it. After restoring the vehicle and researching its category, you can manufacture further examples.

One random wreck appears on each generated map, with additional wrecks on road tiles. Each vehicle type needs its initial restoration only once before repeat production becomes available.

A fleet of specialists

The expansion includes:

• Classic cars: provide a morale benefit when used.
• Supercars: deliver exceptional speed when the colony and destination are connected by roads.
• Battle tanks and infantry vehicles: heavy protection and powerful weapons, including coaxial machine guns on tanks.
• Mobile artillery: deployable firepower using different shell types.
• Refrigerated trucks: preserve transported supplies.
• Helicopters: separate cargo and personnel transport roles.

Important vehicle details

Udar accepts anything that can be fired from a mortar, including modded shells. It cannot bombard other world tiles.

Hermano refrigeration can be switched off. It works without a driver but continuously consumes fuel while operating.

Cherokee is a cargo helicopter, while Louie handles personnel transport.

Vehicle turrets can reload from supplies in cargo storage. Vehicles cannot be minified and reinstalled.

Compatibility and saves

Can be added to an existing save. Research-overhaul mods are supported while preserving the wreck-restoration requirements.

Combat Extended compatibility is unconfirmed; check with the CE team.
