Jump Through Windows - Sprint and Dive Through Windows in Project Zomboid

Jump Through Windows is a Project Zomboid mod that allows characters to dive through windows while sprinting, making escapes and fast movement through buildings more dynamic. Originally based on an animation created for Build 41, this version brings the mechanic to Project Zomboid Build 42.

Instead of slowing down to climb through a window, players can leap directly through it while running at full speed. However, such maneuvers come with risks, including injuries and the possibility of falling to the ground.

Sprinting and Window Diving

The mod introduces a new movement mechanic that allows survivors to jump through windows during a sprint.

Main features include:

• Sprint through windows: Dive through windows without stopping your sprint.
• Risk of injury: Characters can hurt themselves while jumping through windows.
• Chance of falling: Unsuccessful jumps may cause survivors to fall to the ground.
• Build 42 support: Brings the window-diving mechanic from Build 41 to Build 42.
• Singleplayer and multiplayer: The feature works in both game modes.

The jumping animation originates from Dive Through Windows by Jay, originally developed for Project Zomboid Build 41.

Controls and Sandbox Settings

Window diving works only while sprinting. Normal movement or running without sprinting will not activate the mechanic.

The default sprint key in Project Zomboid is ALT, although the mod also supports custom key bindings.

Players can customize the mod's behavior through the game's Sandbox settings, allowing the mechanic to be adjusted to their preferences.

Compatibility

Jump Through Windows supports Project Zomboid Build 42 and works in both singleplayer and multiplayer.

The mod has been reported to function normally in setups containing more than 100 other mods. However, compatibility with every modification is not guaranteed, and conflicts may occur depending on the installed mod collection.
