1986 Oshkosh P19A

Food is running low, fuel is becoming harder to find, and every new shelter eventually attracts another zombie horde. Maybe it's time to stop building permanent bases and embrace a different way of surviving.

The 1986 Oshkosh P19A brings a massive American military fire truck to Project Zomboid, offering the durability, protection and practical equipment needed for life on the move.

Originally built to operate in demanding environments, this heavy-duty machine is well suited to dangerous expeditions. Its imposing dimensions and rugged construction make it an interesting choice for survivors who prefer exploring the world rather than staying in one place.

With several configurations and a selection of military trailers, you can prepare for long journeys through the abandoned roads of Kentucky.

Three Heavy-Duty Variants

The collection includes three distinct chassis configurations:

  • Kentucky Fire Department - An emergency service version with a recognizable fire department appearance.
  • USMC Truck - A military configuration inspired by equipment used by the United States Marine Corps.
  • Rare Fortress Truck - A special, less common variant with a distinctive survival-oriented design.

Burnt wrecks are also included, adding more variety to abandoned locations.

Each version accommodates four occupants and supports additional protective equipment.

Interior and Emergency Escape Hatch

One of the most interesting features is the roof escape system.

The passenger occupying the fourth seat can use a special hatch to exit at the rear-left corner of the truck. This provides an alternative way out when conventional doors are inconvenient or dangerous to use.

The third and fourth seats are also inaccessible to zombies, making them useful places to sleep when the vehicle has not yet been fitted with protective armor plates.

These details make the interior especially valuable during extended journeys through heavily infected territory.

Armor and Customization

The P19A supports a variety of removable accessories that can be discovered while exploring the game world.

Available equipment includes:

  • Protective armor plates for windows
  • Reinforced engine protection
  • Additional fenders and exterior attachments
  • Roof racks for carrying supplies
  • Spare tire mounts
  • Multiple texture variations

The truck also features run-flat tires, allowing continued movement after wheel damage. However, reduced friction affects handling, so careful driving remains important.

Four Military Trailers

For survivors who need additional cargo capacity, the collection includes four compatible trailers:

  • M1082 Trailer - A military cargo trailer for transporting supplies and equipment.
  • M1082 Covered Trailer - An alternative configuration with a protective cover.
  • M1095 Trailer - A larger military transport platform.
  • M1095 Covered Trailer - A covered version of the M1095.

These trailers are compatible with military vehicles from other modifications. Small civilian cars may not be capable of attaching or towing them properly.

Animations and Additional Features

  • Fully animated hood, rear compartment doors, side doors and windows
  • Detailed interior with a visible character model
  • Improved entering, exiting and aiming animations
  • Four passenger seats
  • Removable 3D components that can be placed in the game world
  • Support for towing and being towed
