Furniture Positioning and Path Costs for RimWorld

Arrange furniture closer to walls, tuck chairs under tables and make cramped rooms easier to navigate. This mod lets you offset supported furniture in any direction, with path costs adjusting to match its position.

Some furniture, including chairs, can be tucked under tables and pulled out automatically when needed.

Fine-tune your interiors

Furniture controls let you adjust positioning directly through gizmos, which can be hidden afterward. You can also slightly shrink furniture visually to fit tight spaces or reduce overlapping-surface flickering. Resizing is decorative only.

Supported objects include:

  • Chairs, tables, beds and thrones.
  • 3x1 workstations.
  • Braziers and standing lamps.
  • Flower pots and storage buildings.
  • Columns.

The mod is particularly useful alongside thin-wall mods, where standard furniture placement can leave awkward gaps.

Settings and limitations

Mod settings control the maximum offset and how far an object must move before its path cost is fully reduced to zero.

Excessive offsets can make furniture clip through walls or other objects. Path-cost adjustments therefore allow more freedom than will necessarily look natural.

Compatibility and saves

Special patches are included for Dubs Bad Hygiene, Neat Storage and Sense of Depth.

Incompatible with Perspective: Buildings, which provides overlapping functionality.

The mod uses RimWorld’s existing path-cost and automatic untucking methods, with minimal performance impact reported. It can be safely added to or removed from an existing save.
