Shelves, bookcases, coolers, racks, counters, crates, troughs and newspaper boxes now show what's inside them in Project Viewpoint's 3D view, and empty out as they get looted.
Viewpoint - Visible Loot
In Project Viewpoint, furniture finally stops lying to you. A shelf stocked with canned food looks stocked, and a shelf you've just cleaned out looks empty. Visible Loot places container contents right into the 3D world and removes them bit by bit as you (or someone before you) take the loot.
Step into a store and you can tell at a glance whether scavengers got there first, so you don't waste time on bare shelves.
⚠️ Still in development Nearly all store and house furniture is already supported, but the work isn't done. Now and then items may hover above a shelf, sink into the model or not appear at all. Spotted something like that? Let me know via the feedback form.
What shows its contents
Grocery stores Shelving, checkout stands, coolers, freezers, produce crates and vegetable baskets, bread stands, meat counters, bakery cases.
Bars and food places Bar shelves, pizza displays, cantina counters.
Clothes and shoes Clothing racks, wall rails, stacks of folded clothes, shoe displays.
General stores and storage General store and Zippee shelves, pegboards, storage and wire racks, video shelves, magazine racks.
Specialty shops Gun and jewelry counters.
Homes Bookcases (corner ones included), regular shelves, crafted wall shelves, stone shelves, china cabinets.
Streets Snack and newspaper vending boxes, trash cans, round metal bins, mall bins and public garbage bins.
Farms Feed and water in troughs, composters.
Under the hood
Built from the game's own assets. Every Project Zomboid container has two pictures, "full" and "few items". The mod recreates them in 3D, assembling them from the game's own item models, so everything looks like it belongs.
Four stages instead of two. Full → looted → a few items → almost empty. Goods disappear gradually as the container is searched. Don't want the in-between stages? Switch them off in Options > Mods > Visible Loot, a setting each player controls for themselves.
Stock for furniture that had none. Where the game has no fill pictures, the mod adds goods of its own, also built from the game's item models.
Troughs show exactly the hay and water the game has put in them.
New furniture models where the old ones got in the way: - Clear glass on coolers, freezers, bakery cases, china cabinets, pizza displays, and gun and jewelry counters. - Rebuilt from scratch: grocery shelving, storage and magazine racks, produce crates, bread stands and grocery wall shelves. The Voxel Studio versions have broken shelves or stock that never goes away. - Opened up so you can see inside: snack vending machines, newspaper boxes, cantina counters, wooden troughs and the double metal trough.
Visible from the back, too. Look at a shelf from behind and you'll still see what's on it.
No cloned stores. Identical shelves, coolers and racks within one store lay out their goods differently depending on where each one stands. The layout is shared, though: every player sees a given shelf exactly the same way.
Compatibility
❌ Don't combine with Project Viewpoint: KK's Shelves in 3D. Both mods touch almost the same furniture, so pick one.
🖥️ If a server has both installed, each player decides which one to use in Options > Mods > Visible Loot.
