1978 AM General M35A2

Some military trucks were built to withstand decades of demanding service, and the AM General M35A2, better known as the Deuce and a Half, is a perfect example. Rugged, dependable and incredibly versatile, this American workhorse is ready for a new mission in Project Zomboid.

Forget about breaking speed records. The Deuce is a large, heavy machine designed to transport equipment and survive difficult conditions rather than race along highways. Its impressive carrying capacity and protective upgrades make it an excellent choice for survivors planning long expeditions or transporting valuable supplies.

With four specialized configurations, the collection offers much more than an ordinary cargo truck.

Four Military Variants

The mod introduces four vehicles that share interchangeable components, making maintenance and repairs considerably easier:

• M35A2 Cargo Truck - A classic military transport designed for carrying equipment, resources and supplies.
• M49A2C Gas Tanker - A specialized fuel transport configuration.
• M50A3 Water Tanker - A utility version equipped with a water tank.
• M62 Wrecker - A military recovery truck with a distinctive service-oriented design.

The fuel and water tankers are optional. Their appearance in the game world must be enabled through the mod menu.

Armor and Defensive Equipment

The M35A2 can be equipped with additional protection to improve its chances of surviving encounters with the undead.

Its reinforced front bumper is particularly useful. It can absorb considerable punishment while helping protect the engine and hood from damage.

The front grille also serves an important purpose by shielding the headlights. Keeping it in good condition can make a difference when traveling after dark.

Available equipment includes:

• Protective plates for windows and other vulnerable areas
• Reinforced bumpers and bullbars
• Removable spare tire
• Cab and cargo bed covers
• Mudflaps and exterior accessories
• Multiple texture variations

Many of these components can be discovered while exploring abandoned locations.

Run-Flat Tires and Interactive Details

The truck features run-flat tires, allowing it to continue moving even after wheel damage. However, reduced friction affects handling, so driving carefully remains important.

Other features include:

• Fully animated hood, tailgate, doors and windows
• Detailed interior with a visible character model
• Improved entering, exiting and aiming animations
• Removable 3D components that can be placed in the game world
• Shared parts across all four configurations
• Support for towing and being towed

A troop carrier variant is also planned for a future update.
