1962 Daimler Ferret

Small, fast and surprisingly capable, the Daimler Ferret brings a classic British armored reconnaissance vehicle to Project Zomboid. Originally developed for scouting rather than direct combat, this compact machine relies on mobility, protection and excellent off-road performance.

Its armored hull offers a considerable advantage when traveling through zombie-infested areas. While the Ferret was never intended to challenge tanks, it can provide a much safer environment than an ordinary civilian car.

There is one compromise, however. The crew compartment is extremely cramped, so comfort is definitely not its strongest feature.

Compact Military Reconnaissance Vehicle

The mod includes two configurations based on the Ferret family:

• Ferret Mk 2 - A compact armored scout vehicle designed around mobility and protection.
• Ferret Mk 3 - Another configuration of the British reconnaissance machine.

Both versions feature a distinctive military appearance and a two-person crew compartment.

Protection and Off-Road Capabilities

The Ferret combines several features that make it particularly useful for exploring dangerous territory:

• Armored hull and protective hatches
• Independent suspension on all four wheels
• Run-flat tires that remain usable after damage
• Central Tire Inflation (CTI) system
• Compact dimensions and high mobility

Together, these systems help the scout car travel through difficult environments where conventional vehicles may struggle.

Storage and Customization

Despite its limited interior space, the vehicle supports several practical upgrades. Additional components can be crafted or discovered throughout the game world:

• External side storage compartments
• Rear cargo rack
• Sand channels for difficult terrain
• Other removable accessories
• Multiple texture variations

These attachments provide useful ways to carry equipment without sacrificing the compact design.
