Toxin Warcasket - Chemical Warfare Armor for RimWorld

Toxin Warcasket adds a gas-focused armor set for Vanilla Factions Expanded - Pirates. Built on the Cataphract chassis, this seventh-generation warcasket combines strong plating with a shared gas tank, letting its pilot flood an area with tox gas, advance through it and recover some gas afterward.

Requires VFE Pirates and Biotech.

Three pieces, one gas system

• Torso: holds nearly three tox packs’ worth of gas and refills using chemfuel. Toggle its vent to release an expanding cloud around the pilot, then switch it off to preserve the remaining supply.
• Shoulders: spray gas in a cone using the torso tank. A full tank supplies four jets; without the tank, the shoulders have two charges. The targeting preview shows the affected area and gas drift.
• Helmet: protects against tox gas exposure and draws nearby gas into the tank. Its clearing ability also removes smoke, rot stink and deadlife dust.

The pieces can be mixed with other VFE Pirates warcasket components.

Specialized protection

The Toxin focuses on gas offense and defense rather than the Hazard set’s broader protections. Its stronger plating and tank come with additional weight, while venom, fire and extreme temperatures remain threats.

Mod settings adjust abilities and selected stats. An optional Spacer Warcasket tier conversion changes the whole set’s plating, shields, vacuum resistance, costs and research requirements.

Research and installation

Research Specialised Warcaskets from VFE Pirates and Tox Gas from Biotech, then install the set at a warcasket foundry.

Compatibility and saves

• Save Our Ship 2: EVA compatibility follows the rules used by VFE Pirates’ own sets.
• VRE Waster: gas stored in the tank can support a waster pilot’s tox-absorption gene. This integration is enabled by default.
• Combat Extended: adjusted armor, bulk and carrying capacity; the helmet also blocks CE smoke.

Safe to add to an existing save. Do not remove the mod while a pawn is welded into the set.
