Hear clothing rustle, loaded backpacks shift and attached equipment rattle as you move. Noise changes with movement speed, skills and traits. Customize individual sounds and optionally let zombies hear your gear. Supports multiplayer.
Dynamic Gear Rattling adds movement sounds to worn clothing, backpacks and attached equipment. Inspired by DayZ and Escape from Tarkov, it makes your survivor’s loadout audible as you explore.
Equipment affects the sound
- Clothing: heavy jackets, vests and coats rustle more loudly than lighter garments.
- Backpacks: become louder as they hold more items.
- Attached equipment: weapons and objects carried on your back, belt or holster produce rattling based on how many are attached.
The sounds respond to your movement and speed. Sneaking is quieter than sprinting, while Lightfooted, Sneaking, Graceful and Clumsy also affect noise.
Adjustable audio and zombie hearing
Mod options let you adjust individual sounds or mute them entirely.
In multiplayer, these settings also change how loudly you hear other players’ equipment.
Enable the Zombies Hear Gear sandbox option if you want equipment noise to be audible to zombies as well.
Compatibility and saves
Supports clothing, armor and weapons from other mods, rather than being limited to vanilla equipment.
The mod can be safely added to or removed from an existing save.
Multiplayer is supported, but dedicated servers have not been tested.
