1986 Chevrolet CUCV & K5 Blazer
There's something unmistakable about classic American military vehicles. Their squared-off bodies, practical construction and rugged appearance make them instantly recognizable, whether they're parked at a military installation or abandoned somewhere along a Kentucky highway.
The 1986 Chevrolet CUCV & K5 Blazer collection brings nine vehicles and a military cargo trailer to Project Zomboid, combining iconic military trucks with several civilian and law enforcement variants.
From the familiar K5 Blazer to the specialized CUCV models, this pack offers an impressive selection of vehicles for survivors who appreciate military equipment, restoration and practical transportation.
Most components and tires are shared across the collection, making it easier to maintain several vehicles, recover useful parts from abandoned wrecks and build your own fleet.
Nine Chevrolet Variants
The collection includes nine chassis configurations, divided between civilian, police and military vehicles.
Civilian and Police Models
- Chevrolet K5 Blazer - The classic American SUV with its recognizable boxy body.
- K5 Blazer PD - A police department version with distinctive law enforcement styling.
- K5 Blazer KSP - A Kentucky State Police variant that fits naturally into the roads and settlements of Knox County.
Military CUCV Models
The Commercial Utility Cargo Vehicle family introduces six additional configurations:
- Chevrolet M1008 - A military pickup based on Chevrolet's familiar truck platform.
- Chevrolet M1009 - A military utility vehicle derived from the K5 Blazer.
- Chevrolet M1009 MP - A Military Police variation of the M1009.
- Chevrolet M1010 - An ambulance configuration from the CUCV family.
- Chevrolet M1028 - Another military pickup configuration with its own vehicle setup.
- Chevrolet M1031 - A specialized military utility truck.
Each vehicle has its own appearance and configuration, giving players plenty of choices when assembling a military-themed garage.
The collection also includes the M101A2 military cargo trailer, providing an additional option for transporting equipment.
Military Equipment and Shared Components
The military variants feature specialized equipment that distinguishes them from ordinary civilian vehicles.
These features include:
- CTI (Central Tire Inflation) - A tire inflation system included on the military models.
- Gun racks - Dedicated equipment for storing firearms.
- Shared tires and mechanical components across much of the collection.
- Compatibility between many vehicle parts, simplifying repairs and maintenance.
This interchangeability is particularly useful when restoring damaged vehicles. Instead of searching for every component individually, players can recover compatible parts from other Chevrolet models in the pack.
The creator also plans to extend parts compatibility to additional 1980s Chevrolet vehicles in future releases.
Armor and Customization
The CUCV collection provides numerous protective components and exterior accessories that can be crafted or discovered while exploring the game world.
Available equipment includes:
- Reinforced bumpers and bullbars
- Armor plates for windows and doors
- Additional protection for the engine and headlights
- Side steps and exterior attachments
- Tarps and protective covers
- Sun visors
- Multiple texture variations
These components allow you to preserve the original appearance of a military vehicle or gradually prepare it for more dangerous expeditions.
Whether you're restoring a civilian Blazer or equipping a military truck for survival, the collection offers plenty of opportunities for personalization.
Detailed Animations and Interactive Parts
All nine vehicles feature detailed animations and interactive components.
The hood, trunk or cargo access, doors and windows are animated. Interiors and characters remain visible, while improved entering, exiting and aiming animations make interactions more natural.
Additional features include:
- Removable 3D components that can be placed in the game world
- Craftable and discoverable customization parts
- Two or four seats, depending on the vehicle
- Support for towing and being towed
- A dedicated military cargo trailer
