Vanilla Furniture Expanded 2 — More Ways to Furnish Your Colony

Vanilla Furniture Expanded 2 expands RimWorld’s furniture selection with over 30 additions, covering technology from neolithic settlements to late-industrial colonies. It is a major rework of the original Vanilla Furniture Expanded, delivered as an update to that mod.

Furniture with progression

Basic research unlocks essential furnishings, while separate research projects provide access to more specialized pieces. Construction uses familiar resources, keeping the additions close to vanilla RimWorld.

Furniture differs in comfort, rest effectiveness and functionality. Earlier designs retain useful qualities as your colony develops, giving you reasons to choose beyond simply replacing everything with the newest option.

Recreation, skills and modular seating

  • Dartboards, punching bags and sun loungers add recreation options.
  • Computers, pianos and arcade machines provide opportunities to develop skills.
  • Modular couches and linking coffee tables let you arrange seating areas around your rooms.
  • Selected furnishings offer small bonuses, including benefits for linked beds.

Saves and DLC support

No DLC is required. Royalty and Biotech enable additional functionality, including royal beds and school chairs.

The update supports existing saves and is designed to transition furniture from the previous version. The author notes that harmless red errors may appear during that transition.

The mod is designed to work alongside other Vanilla Expanded content. Individual furniture pieces cannot be disabled through built-in settings.

If newly constructed furniture disappears, move the mod higher in the load order.
