Vanilla Factions Expanded - Romans - Unite the Republics

Vanilla Factions Expanded - Romans brings Roman-inspired factions, senate politics and new technologies to RimWorld. Positioned between the neolithic and medieval eras, it introduces a Republic divided into three subfactions, each offering different technological rewards and regular tribute.

Earn influence through senators

Complete mission chains to gain senators’ support and increase your political influence. Their backing can unlock technologies, colony perks and assistance.

That support also creates responsibility: allied senators live under your protection. You must care for them and defend them, even when they lack combat skills.

Senator perks are not initially permanent. Losing a senator disables the associated benefits until you secure support again. The description makes an exception once all senators have been gathered.

Weapons, buildings and infrastructure

Available additions include javelins, spathas, thermae baths, crafting facilities and road-building technology.

New technologies can also be unlocked without completing faction quests. Uniting the republics does not require the special starting scenario or storyteller.

Neron Neolithic

The optional Neron Neolithic storyteller restricts research to the neolithic era and world factions to tribes and republics.

This is a soft restriction: advanced quest rewards, loot and mechanoids are not removed.

Requirements and compatibility

Requires Vanilla Expanded Framework.

Compatibility is listed for Combat Extended and Vanilla Outposts Expanded. Overlapping outpost types are removed when both outpost systems are present.

Existing saves are supported, but removing the mod during a playthrough is not recommended. Back up your save before installation.

There are no built-in switches for individual systems. The author suggests Cherry Picker for selectively removing unwanted content.
