Vanilla Furniture Expanded - Art - From Pottery to Holograms

Vanilla Furniture Expanded - Art expands RimWorld’s decorative options across several technological eras. Your colony can create pottery, furnish halls with statues and reliefs, weave embroidered rugs and eventually build glowing holographic displays.

Art through the ages

  • Neolithic pottery: early decorations that can also be sold to earn silver.
  • Sculptures and architectural details: small, large and grand statues, wall reliefs, decorative pillars and plinths that combine artwork with storage.
  • Industrial decoration: embroidered rugs, wallpaper and decorative plant pots.
  • Spacer holograms: powered displays that emit blue light, with quality determined by the creator’s Intellectual skill.
  • Archotech sculptures: rare artworks that project striking imagery into the minds of nearby colonists.

Archotech sculptures cannot be crafted. They are obtained through quest rewards or traders.

Crafting and research

Rugs are made at a tailoring bench using the Crafting skill. With the Production module installed, they can also be made at the large tailoring bench.

Holograms are produced at a fabrication bench using Intellectual. They require electricity to operate.

Additional art forms are unlocked through projects in a dedicated research tab.

Requirements and compatibility

Vanilla Expanded Framework is required, as noted in the mod’s update history. The original Vanilla Furniture Expanded base module is not required.

The mod adds new artwork types without replacing vanilla sculptures and is intended to coexist with other sculpture mods. Existing saves support adding and removing the module.

If decorative structures disappear after construction, move the mod higher in the load order.

Artwork, design and most code: Oskar Potocki
Hologram and Archotech sculpture programming: Ogliss
