Vanilla Events Expanded - New Events and Story Chains for RimWorld
Vanilla Events Expanded brings more variety to your colony’s story through additional events and longer event chains. It builds on RimWorld’s familiar storytelling without replacing the storyteller or introducing a complicated new system.
More variety in colony life
The reworked event selection fits more closely with the base game’s setting. Orbital trader ship crashes replace the former space battles, while older events with unreliable behaviour have been redesigned.
Long-lasting purple events now unfold as event chains, giving you a rough indication of how long their effects will continue.
Control which events appear
The mod settings let you adjust event chances individually or set them to zero to disable unwanted events.
Purple events follow additional timing rules:
- They can begin only after 180 days have passed since the colony started.
- Once one occurs, another purple event cannot begin for 300 days.
For a scenario built around recurring conditions, the scenario editor lets you schedule relevant events to repeat at a chosen interval.
Compatibility and saves
Vanilla Events Expanded can be added to an existing save. Its straightforward design aims to work alongside other mods, though compatibility with every combination is not guaranteed.
For Combat Extended, check compatibility with the CE team, which handles its own patches.
