Vanilla Animals Expanded - Endangered Animals adds 11 rare animal species and a new opportunity to protect wildlife through taming, breeding and release. The selection includes pandas, pangolins and extinct species such as the Tasmanian tiger and quagga, all drawn to fit RimWorld’s vanilla style.
A rare arrival worth protecting
These animals do not spawn naturally in biomes. Instead, a rare Endangered animals wander in event brings a pair onto your map.
You can tame the newcomers and establish a breeding population, giving your colony a conservation role alongside its usual survival goals.
The quagga can also serve as a pack animal.
Release animals into the wild
Select an eligible animal and use Release to the Wild to set it free. Releasing endangered animals improves relations with other factions.
By default, the option applies only to endangered animals. A setting allows you to extend it to all animals.
Compatibility and saves
This is a focused module in the Vanilla Animals Expanded series, with artwork, sounds and balance designed around the base game.
It can be added to an existing save. For Combat Extended compatibility, consult the CE team for patch details.
