Immersive Snow – Viewpoint — Winter Effects in First and Third Person

Immersive Snow – Viewpoint brings Immersive Snow’s effects into Project Viewpoint’s 3D rendering. Snow-covered clothing, frosted vehicles, footprints, and visible breath appear correctly in both first-person and third-person views.

It is a compatibility add-on and requires both original mods.

Snow throughout the 3D scene

The integration displays:

  • snow on players and zombies, including your first-person sleeves;
  • snow on held weapons and back-mounted equipment;
  • vehicle coverage, snowy wheels, and frosted windows;
  • footprints, tyre tracks, and blood on snow;
  • breath vapour and snow blowing off moving vehicles.

An optional Snow depth setting adds ground snow with volume, including compressed tracks, trenches, and drifts beside buildings. Vehicles can also receive raised snow caps on roofs and bonnets.

Optional movement effects make deep snow more demanding: wading consumes effort, deep cover prevents sprinting, and vehicles slow down. Multiplayer settings are server-controlled, although multiplayer operation has not yet been tested.

Individual effect groups can be disabled through Options → Mods.

Why the add-on is needed

Without this integration, Immersive Snow hides several effects while Viewpoint’s 3D mode is active to avoid incorrect rendering. Those effects remain available in the normal game view.

This add-on lets Viewpoint’s renderer display them in the appropriate positions.

Requirements and installation

  • Immersive Snow 0.5.2 Patch 5 or newer
  • Project Viewpoint 0.1.6.1 — version 0.1.6 is also supported
  • ZombieBuddy

Enable Immersive Snow – Viewpoint alongside its dependencies, restart the game, and approve its Java component when ZombieBuddy prompts you. Enter Viewpoint using O.

Updates and existing saves

The integration depends on supported renderer versions. It disables itself with an unsupported newer Viewpoint version, leaving Immersive Snow’s usual 3D fallback behaviour in place.

Keep Immersive Snow and this add-on updated together: mismatched versions can also disable the integration.

No data is stored in the save, so the add-on can be added or removed during a playthrough. Multiplayer remains untested; each player enables it locally.
