Vanilla Races Expanded - Wasters - Mutations and Pollution Adaptation for RimWorld
Vanilla Races Expanded - Wasters expands Biotech’s pollution-adapted xenotype with inheritable mutations, new genes and burn barrels. Wasters become more varied, with different combinations of traits that support colonies built around contaminated environments.
Discover inheritable mutations
A mutation gene develops into one of several predefined pollution-related genes, giving newly generated Wasters different characteristics.
Mutations pass to offspring. Children of two Wasters inherit their parents’ mutations, allowing you to develop increasingly specialised bloodlines through selective breeding.
The mutation traits are also available as ordinary genes in genepacks and can be selected when creating a custom xenotype.
Put pollution to work
The new burn barrel spreads pollution around your settlement. Use it to create conditions that benefit Wasters with the appropriate pollution genes, or to expand contaminated areas around the base.
Additional genes and more heavily mutated Waster variants broaden the possibilities for pollution-focused playthroughs.
Requirements and saves
Requires the Biotech DLC. No Humanoid Alien Races version is provided.
The mod can be added to an existing save, but existing Wasters remain unchanged. They do not receive the new genes retroactively.
Removing the mod during a playthrough is not considered safe. Combat Extended compatibility is expected but not firmly confirmed.
